hobbit

I have just tried to read Bilbo the Hobbit again yesterday, but this time, it was in the comic book kind.

I could not finish it.

I don't know why. Is it because this book is clearly a children's book ? Or because I am just fed up of that kind of fantasy ?

It seems that we have heard too much of the Lord of the Rings stuff these past years.

It is a kind of overdose, just the same as the sickness that grabs me anytime I see a reference to Harry Potter and consorts. There has been too much hype about these books and it has not done them good.

Atsuko hates all that stuff, because first it is not her culture, but mainly because these anglo-saxon references are too conspicuous throughout the world these days.

There are other stories from many other cultures that could be also very interesting to discover, I am sure. But this anglo-saxon stuff acts just like another brand of terrorism :

Cultural terrorism.

And as any terrorism, it aims at destroying free spirit and free thinking.
